Gran Bretaña declara la guerra

Neville Chamberlain Primer Ministro de Gran Bretaña, en el Parlamento:

¶ “This morning the British Ambassador in Berlin, handed the german government the final notes, seeking that unless we heard from them by eleven o'clock that they were prepared at once to withdraw their troops from Poland, a state of war will exist between us. I have to tell you now, that no such undertaking have been received and that consequently, this country is at war with Germany.” ¶

“Esta mañana el embajador británico en Berlín, entregó al gobierno alemán las notas finales, requiriendo que, a menos que para las once horas, nosotros oigamos de ellos, que están preparando el inmediato retiro de sus tropas de Polonia, el estado de guerra existirá entre nosotros. Debo decirles ahora, que tal compromiso no ha sido recibido y en consecuencia este país está en guerra con Alemania.”
